A little girl’s room. A renovation project for our youngest client in the oldest building that we have constructed in. We stripped down this 150-year-old structure to reveal its original insitu floors which inspired the rest of the project. Keeping as much of the floor open as possible for the child to play, grow and create we built everything in a single light birch plywood detailed in soft rounded corners, custom knobs, and handles. Not only was this a functional requirement but it defined the aesthetics of the room as well. We chose not to have a strong thematic in the built-in furniture as we want the space to evolve as she grows older.
