p_001. Doctor House

area: 700 sq.ft
location: Khar, Mumbai

status: Completed 2023

Designed for a family of four and their dog, the apartment was originally a long, linear block with a covered terrace balcony separating the common areas from the bedrooms. This underutilized, transitional space was reimagined by integrating it into the living area with large Crittall doors. The old windows were replaced with Crittall windows, creating a greenhouse-like atmosphere, with the balcony wrapping around it.

Two natural stone walls serve as partial dividers, while their repetition creates a cohesive flow. The ceiling’s awkward geometries were softened with organic forms, casting an ethereal diffusion of light. To make the design more personal, we incorporated the clients’ existing furniture and meaningful objects collected during their travels, seamlessly blending old and new.
