p_012. House Unfurled: Gokul

A 100-year-old load bearing bungalow, divided into 5 individual apartments and series of renovations prior to our intervention. Keeping in mind the age of the building and its existing structure we had to make surgical re-insertions to convert the layout of this once dark stuffy apartment into a light and airy abode. The idea was to create a fluid space with high volumes of storage concealed behind false walls to accommodate a family with shifting needs and grandparents that made regular visits. Each space had to be flexible enough to create nooks for sleeping which could then be morphed into a place for entertainment when they host.
