p_015. Stack House

Re-designing a 1BHK apartment block in an old housing complex in Andheri, Mumbai for a family of two. The idea was to use simple design strategies to open out the layout, orient the shared living space to a single large window, create fluid connections with the eating, cooking, and living spaces, and create a compact yet comfortable sleeping space which becomes the most private and only separate part of the house. This was achieved by creating two long stacks along the length of the apartment which houses all the utilitarian functions and storage of the house.
